This is a simple plugin that blocks all IE versions from viewing your website. I know some people will be crying foul, given that Internet Explorer 8 has taken steps toward web standards; however, it is far behind in both function and stability. In the same time that Opera, Gecko, and Webkit have been moving toward CSS3 functioning and XHTML 2.0 functioning, IE8 has been achieving well established CSS 2.1 functionality.
This plugin is for the most radical IE haters, it will do a simple match with the user agent string and block any trident engine based browser (msie). It will show a page recommending a different browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Chrome), picture below. The difference between this mod: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=208958 And mine is that there is NO html of your page served to the IE user. Windows 7 users in Europe have a choice, on what browser they want to use. Internet Explorer does not come with it.
I still think alot of people will use IE. Nice mod, but not for me.

People often think that vBulletin 4.0 will do their laundry for them. Make them coffee, give your wife someone else to nag to for a change. Me? What do I think. The Nokia N96 all over again. It does everything, like play MP3's, locate where you are through GPS and "OH-LA-LA" but it can't call or send/ receive texts... Defeating the purpose of a mobile/ cell phone. Excellent plugin! Just what I was looking for (it's possible to do this via htaccess, which I've done before, but a plugin is just as fine). I may alter the plugin with a customised HTML page just to get the message through.
Indeed, boycotting Internet Explorer is an important move in the right direction to support internet security and web standards. Microsoft should just leave the browser business altogether. I nominated this plugin for the MOTM.
