Disable [img] bb code for specific user or usergroup?

Anyone know of a mod that can do this? Only one I found disabled things like font and size, but not images. I don't want to disable images globally, just for some troublemakers spamming the joint.

Do you just want IMG tags and their contents to simply be removed from the posts of certain users? Or do you want them to remain in the database, but simply not display, and have this work retroactively, that is, in all their old posts as well?

I think the latter, just disabling the rending of the bb code for specific users / usergroup

though if the former was possible, sure

You sound like you are leaning towards the latter option, and it would actually require fewer server resources, so I'll go that route (at least as long as that works for you). I will upload a product for you to test, likely within 24 hours.

Okay, here is the first version for you to test.

Once you import the product, go to the settings for the product, and enabled it, give the comma-delimited list of BBCodes you wish to disable, selects the usergroups and/or enter the comma-delimited list of usernames, choose whether you want the BBCodes to also be disabled in signatures, and finally decide whether you want the disabled BBCodes to be replaced with a message or if you want them to simply be removed:

Please let me know if there are any changes or added features you would like.

Glad to hear it!

If/when I decide to officially publish this mod, I will cite you as the co-author.

I have posted a much more robust version of this product here:

Disable BBCodes Per Users/Usergroups
